...and you are gonna move a lot of tiles and animal-shaped meeples.
Puzzling and animal breeding: Designer Uwe Rosenberg is at his best!
New York Zoo is what is called a polyomino puzzle game. The idea is that you want to be the first player to have their zoo board filled with multiform Tetris-like puzzle pieces, each representing a cage or enclosure.
Build animal enclosures, introduce new animals, and raise their offspring. The game play is straight forward as you have only two turn options: puzzle a new enclosure tile into your zoo area or gain new animals to populate your animal enclosures. But be sure to time your actions well since you want your zoo to participate in as many animal breedings as possible.
You start with a zoo board and two animals, which are placed in the "indoor enclosures" on the left side of the board.
After that, players take turns moving the elephant on the center board with one to four (or three based on your player count) squares to grab a tile with an outdoor enclosure or two animals for your zoo.
If you choose to grab an outdoor enclosure, you will need to place it in your zoo and add an animal that comes from your indoor cage or from one of the other enclosure tiles in your zoo. If you take animals, you can place them in one of your pens or on one of the cages on your board. It is important to note that each outdoor enclosure tile can only contain one type of animal.
As the elephant walks around the center board, it also passes the so-called breeding areas. When this happens, animals can multiply, but only when there are two of the same on a field tile, a third is added.
Once one of your areas is full of animals, move it from your board back to the supply, keep one in an indoor enclosure if you wish, and get an attraction tile to fill up your zoo faster. The game ends when the first player completely fills their zoo with accommodation and attraction tiles. He or she is the winner.
It is as simple as that. And it is brilliant.

Discard the best cards from your hand in order to score the least points.
To win, you will need to have the least points at the end of the game. You can do this by discarding the highest cards OR keeping only those of the same suit.
Mojo is an abstract family game about hand management and matching. The idea is that players will play their cards trying to have the least value in their hands when the round is over and points equal to the numbers on the cards. However, only one card of each color scores, the highest value. The players who gets down to 3 cards (or 2 cards, in 2p games) continue their gameplay by placing these 3 cards on the table and revealing them one by one when it is their turn.
Once someone is out of cards or when someone reveals their 3rd card, the round is over and players count their points. The person who was out of cards (or who revealed the 3rd card, if no one was out of cards) gets the Mojo card, which carries a danger: if the person who has this card is not the person with the lowest score for the round, they will get +10 points added to their total. The game ends in the round when someone has 50+ points, and the person with the lowest score is the winner!
Do you have the Mojo card? Be good or you may regret it!

Adapt in an ever-changing ecosystem where food is scarce and predators lurk. (Sounds familiar, right?)
Evolution relies on good management of resources and the multiple characteristics of the species in our possession. A game is divided into several rounds, each of which is divided into 3 stages. First, all players secretly decide on the potential food available in the dedicated space. The strategy starts now, as the food pool is shared by all players... so whoever eats first (in turn order) has a clear advantage. Once this choice has been made, players are invited to select the cards of their choice in order to perfect the species they own, design new ones, increase populations, or even increase the size (and therefore the defence) of a species. A large number of cards are available, each with its own criteria.
Once this stage is complete, each player's population, defences, and characteristics are laid out in front of him. The available food is revealed, and each player has access to it in turn order, with a few subtleties if the cards played beforehand suggest so.
The round ends as soon as all the animals have been fed, or there is simply no food left... all animals without food perish. Food points acquired are accumulated and added up for each player. They are then taken into account at the end of the game.
Once all the rounds have been completed, the points are tallied. They take into account the food ingested, whatever the diet, the characteristics of the species and the number of species still alive.
At the beginning, the difficulties are even less, as the herbivores feed in a totally passive way, and the impact on the rest of the players is minimal. A little gumption is enough to win the game by multiplying your populations while keeping an eye on available food.
The game becomes progressively more difficult with the addition of carnivores... which, in turn, inevitably have an impact on the other players. Carnivores, the offspring of transformed herbivores, require meat, and will therefore aggressively attack neighboring populations. A definite asset, but one to be handled with great care. Indeed, prey must be smaller and unguarded, and the latter have many strategies at their disposal to avoid attack- but in the case of a successful aggression, the attacked player quickly finds himself deprived of a large part of his population!
Evolution packs a surprising amount of variety for a game with simple rules. The variety comes from the synergies between the trait cards and from the different personalities at the table. Some players thrive on creating Carnivores to wreak havoc on their fellow players. Others prefer to stay protected and mind their own business. Evolution encourages both play styles by giving each of them multiple paths to victory. And it is the mix of play styles at the table that ultimately determines the ecosystem in which the players are adapting. So gather your friends and see who can best adapt to the changing world around them.
This game won many awards, such as the Golden Geek, and that is a solid reason for you to try it right now if you have not played yet. Like usual, click the link below:

Of course, no games without developers, and this one has been beautifully adapted to our platform by stst. A lot of thanks to him, and of course, the whole team of North Star Games and the game designers Dominic Crapuchettes, Dmitry Knorre & Sergey Machin for their authorization to bring this brilliant title on Board Game Arena!
No doubt you can handle this wonderful game with a few friends or random opponents here and there. But will you climb the Arena ladder to the top?
Let's discover it!
And that's it for today.
See you around in a few days.
Until next week, take care, and...

EVOLUTSIOON: kas julgete võita?
Kohanege pidevalt muutuvas ökosüsteemis, kus toitu napib ja kiskjad varitsevad. (Kõlab tuttavalt, eks?)
Evolutsioon tugineb ressursside heale haldamisele ja meie valduses olevate liikide paljudele omadustele. Mäng on jagatud mitmeks vooruks, millest igaüks on jagatud 3 etappi.

108 cards.
4 colors with values from 1 to 4.
In turn, each player draws a visible or hidden card and places it in their playing area.
When a pile is empty, the game stops and the points are counted.
Each player tries to score points by forming colored areas of at least 5 adjacent cards.
But players also try to respect the way of grouping the cards.
Otherwise they will lose points.
- a "4" must be in a group of exactly four "4s"
- a "3" must be in a group of exactly three "3s"
- a "2" must be in a group of exactly two "2s"
- a "1" must not be in contact with any other "1"
Butterflies present on certain cards earn a point if they are adjacent to a card of their color.
That's it. Simple. But beautiful. And you do not have to handle the scoring on Board Game Arena! ;)

We would like to thank Paul-Henri Argiot and the team from Actarus Publishing for bringing this game to the platform, as well as the efforts from Galeelox to make this adaptation!

Until then, take care and play fair. :)
LILLED: jõudu!
108 kaarti.
Vastasel juhul kaotavad nad punkte.
- "4" peab olema täpselt nelja "4" rühmas
- "3" peab olema täpselt kolmest "3" koosnevas rühmas
- "2" peab olema täpselt kahe "2" rühmas
- "1" ei tohi olla kontaktis ühegi teise "1"-ga
Teatud kaartidel olevad liblikad teenivad punkti, kui nad on nende värvi kaardi kõrval.
See on kõik. Lihtne.

2212: Ginkgo Biloba, the oldest and strongest tree in the world, has become the symbol of a new method for building cities in symbiosis with nature. Humans have exhausted the resources that the Earth offered them, and humanity must now develop cities that maintain a delicate balance between resource production and consumption. Habitable space is scarce, however, and mankind must now face the challenge of building ever upwards. To develop this new type of city, you will gather a team of experts around you, and try to become the best urban planner for Ginkgopolis.
In Ginkgopolis, the city tiles come in three colors: yellow, which provides victory points; red, which provides resources; and blue, which provides new city tiles. Some tiles start in play, and they are surrounded by letter markers that show where new tiles can be placed.
Begin with three Character cards which grant you starting resources and bonuses to power your game actions. On a turn, players choose a Construction or Urbanization card from their hand simultaneously. Players reveal these cards, adding new tiles to the border of the city in the appropriate location or placing tiles on top of existing tiles. Each card in your hand that you do not play is passed on to your left-hand neighbor, so keep in mind how your play might set up theirs!
When you build over a tile, you add its “power" card to your tableau, which provides you additional abilities during the game, allowing you to scale up your building and point-scoring efforts.
Build upwards as well as outwards to control the most buildings in a future eco-city!
Of course you are curious about it! Fortunately, if you have never played it, you can try it right now from your browser and learn it through its wonderful interactive tutorial included. Or click the link below to the setting page to find your next game partners, and table:

That's it for today ;) It's spring, and you deserved a more complex game all about nature to relax while thinking your next moves...
What will be our next one ?
You have a week to guess.
Until then, take care and play fair!
GING... GINGKO...

Füüsilise versiooni välja tulek on hinnanguliselt plaanitud MAI 2024.
Meil on nüüd BGA-s saadaval palju viikingipõhiseid mänge. Millisest saab sinu lemmik?
Anna meile kommentaarides teada!
Kuni järgmise nädalani, nagu alati,
Olge terved ja mängige ausalt!
Congratulations to all participants and winners from the previous season!
But wait, what exactly is "the Arena?"
The Arena is the competitive mode on BGA. If you master a game and want to play it competitively, this is THE mode to use, so you can challenge the best players and get the most experience points.
The Arena is organized in seasons of 3 months each. Achievements are awarded to the best players at the end of each season.
To play in the Arena: select "Play" and then choose "Arena" instead of "Simple game."
Arena format and Gurus
In the previous seasons, it was you (more exactly the gurus) who chose the game formats for the Arena: player number, options used, ...
We are very happy to see that this way of doing things contributed to making the Arena more popular: thank you to all gurus for their smart suggestions and their votes!
Rules updates
No Arena rules are changing this season. It does not mean we are 100% satisfied with how the Arena is running, but you seem to appreciate the current rules so we want to keep them as they are for now.
Season 17 is NOW Launched.
The new Arena is now open for its new season.
Some Explanation About: Relegations
At the end of each season, after winners have been awarded, you are relegated.
Some custom relegation rules may have been applied to games for some reason (ex: we decided to update the number of leagues), but in general here is what happens:
- For games with 6 or 5 different leagues, all players are decreased by 3 leagues.
- For games with 4 different leagues, all players are decreased by 2 leagues.
- For games with 2 or 3 different leagues, all players are decreased by 1 league.
- For all games and all leagues, your number of Arena points is reset to 1, and your AES ("Arena Elo") is reset to 1500.
It's up to you to find the way to the elite!
May the odds be ever in your favor!
You'll find soon below the updated options for each game for this new arena season
Arena 17. hooaeg: Õitseva Kevade Lahingud!
Palju õnne kõikidele osalejatele ja eelmise hooaja võitjatele!
Aga oota, mis täpselt on "Arena"?
Arena on BGA võistlusrežiim.
Arenat korraldatakse 3-kuuliste hooaegade kaupa. Parimatele mängijatele antakse autasustused iga hooaja lõpus.
Areenil mängimiseks tuleb teha: valige "Mängi" ja seejärel "Lihtmängu" asemel valige "Arena".
Lugege Areeni režiimi kohta lisateavest
Areeni formaat ja Gurud
Eelmistel hooaegadel valisid Arena mänguvormingud teie (täpsemalt gurud): mängija number , kasutatud valikud, ...
Meil on väga hea meel näha, et selline tegutsemisviis aitas kaasa Areeni populaarsuse tõstmisele: aitäh kõikidele gurudele nende nutikate ettepanekute ja häälte eest!
Reeglite uuendused
17. hooaeg on NÜÜD käivitatud.
Uus Areen on nüüd uueks hooajaks avatud.
Mõned selgitused: Väljalangemised
Iga hooaja lõpus, pärast võitjate autasustamist, langete te välja.
Mõnda kohandatud väljalangemise reegleid võidi mängudele mingil põhjusel rakendada (nt otsustasime liigade arvu värskendada), kuid üldiselt juhtub see järgmiselt:
- 6 või 5 erineva liigaga mängude puhul vähendatakse kõiki mängijaid 3 liiga võrra.
- 4 erineva liigaga mängude puhul vähendatakse kõiki mängijaid 2 liiga võrra.
- 2 või 3 erineva liigaga mängude puhul vähendatakse kõiki mängijaid 1 liiga võrra.
- Kõigi mängude ja liigade jaoks lähtestatakse teie areenipunktide arv 1-le ja teie AES ("Arena Elo") lähtestatakse 1500-le.
Teie ülesanne on leida tee eliiti!
Olgu koefitsiendid alati teie kasuks!
Peagi leiate altpoolt selle uue areenihooaja iga mängu värskendatud valikud
You know the road to take, but can not remember the name of the places to go? This one is for you, confused tourists.
In Word Traveler, you and your friends are tourists who are checking out the sights of a new city. Each player has their own secret map of locations that they want to visit, and they will need help from the other players to reach them.
Taking turns playing the traveler and the locals, you all work together to visit as many of these locations as possible, ideally collecting all of the golden souvenirs that you find.
You know only a few words of the local language, however, so the locals- that is, the other players- will do their best to interpret your clues to help get you where you want to go...without getting lost in translation.
It is a very fun game for people who love to scratch their head on how to communicate an idea to others. We had a blast playing it, and a lot of laughs.
So, gather your friends, turn on your mic, and try to find the place your partners wants to go!
It's all available here, in many languages, and it's also a good way to learn new ones:
https://boardgamearena.com/gamepanel?game=wordtraveler
We should thank the Office Dog publishing team, as well as Thomas Dagenais-Lespérance for their authorization to adapt this amazing communication game to Board Game Arena. And let's not forget the work beautifully done by LeSteffen for adapting, developing and bringing this game live to your desktop!
That's it for today.
Don't get lost in the next releases: there's a lot of novelties coming your way!
Until Wednesday for our WRT (Wednesday Release Time),
Take care, and... Play fair!
SÕNAREISIJA: Järgmises Cheesy kohas pöörake vasakule Squishy poole, seejärel otse Majesticu juurde. Sa oled seal!
Teate teed, mida mööda minna, kuid ei mäleta kohtade nimesid, kuhu minna? See on teile, segaduses turistid.
https://boardgamearena.com/gamepanel?game=wordtraveler
Peaksime tänama Office Dogi kirjastusmeeskonda ja Thomas Dagenais-Lespérance'i volituse eest kohandada see hämmastav suhtlusmäng Board Game Arena.
Ärge eksige järgmiste väljaannete puhul: teie teele on tulemas palju uudiseid!
Kuni kolmapäevani meie WRT jaoks (kolmapäevane väljalaskeaeg)
Olge ettevaatlik ja... Mängige ausalt!
The Mandala: the symbol of an ancient and sacred ritual. Colored sand is laid to create a symbolic map of the world before the pattern is ceremonially destroyed and the sand cast into the river.
In the two-player game Mandala, you are trying to score more than your opponent by collecting valuable cards- but you will not know which cards are valuable until well into the game! Over the course of the game, players play their colored cards into the two mandalas, building the central shared mountains and laying cards into their own fields. As soon as a mandala has all six colors, the players take turns choosing the colors in the mountain and adding those cards to their "river" and "cup." At the end of the game, the cards in your cup are worth points based on the position of their colors in that player's river. The player whose cup is worth more points wins.
The linen playmat shows two circular mandalas, with each being divided by a horizontal space (the mountain) to create one "field" for each player. The playmat has seven spaces in front of each player to hold their river of single face-up cards and their cup: the stack of face-down cards which they score at the end of the game.
To begin, each player receives a hand of six cards. Each player receives two random cards face down in their cup, then two random cards are dealt face up into the central mountain strip of each mandala.
On your turn, you may play either a single card into one of mountains, or one or more matching cards into one of your fields. All cards played into a mandala must follow the "Rule of Color": Once a color has been played into one of the three areas of a mandala, then later cards of the same color can be played only into that same area. Thus, once your opponent has played red cards into their field, you can no longer play red cards in your field, and neither you nor your opponent can play red cards into the central mountain. If you played a card into a mountain, draw three new cards from the deck at the end of your turn; if you played cards into one of your fields, do not draw new cards.
A mandala is completed once it contains all six colors of cards. When this happens, the players "destroy" the mandala, taking turns to choose a color present in the mountain and claim all cards of that color. Whoever played more cards in their field chooses first; if tied, the player who did not complete the mandala chooses first. The first time you claim cards of a specific color, lay one of these cards in the lowest-valued empty space in your river, then place the rest into your cup. The spaces in your river are valued 1-6 in order, so cards of the first color you claim will be worth 1 point each, cards of the second color you claim worth 2 points each, and so on.
Once a mandala has been destroyed and all the colors in the mountain claimed, cards played in the fields are discarded, two new cards are dealt face up into the mountain, and the game continues.
The end of the game is triggered either when the deck is exhausted or when one player adds a sixth color to their river. Both players then tally the value of all the cards in their cup, based on the position of the colors in their river, and whoever has the higher score wins!
You can learn to play it through our tutorial, or simply by reaching the dedicated game page and start a game:

Developed by Sir Heo, we would love to thank him for bringing this game to the platform, as well as the game designers Trevor Benjamin and Brett J. Gilbert. Of course, no games without a publisher, and this title is, again, available thanks to the Lookout Games team!
Send mandalas of appreciation!
That's it for this week. But be prepared, more amazing titles are coming your way!
And for those who are interested in our workforce, please welcome two new Admins to the BGA Staff to reinforce our team, strengthen, and improve (there's so much to do):
Thoun & Lymon Flowers!
They're now part of our team and we wish them a warm welcome. Send some love :)
That's it for today. As always...
Take care and play fair!
Mängija, kelle karikas on väärt rohkem punkte, võidab.
https://boardgamearena.com/gamepanel?game=mandala
Saada tunnustusmandalaid!
Selleks nädalaks on kõik. Kuid olge valmis, teie teele on tulemas veelgi hämmastavaid tiitleid!
Saada armastust :)
Tänaseks siis kõik. Nagu alati...
Olge ettevaatlik ja mängige ausalt!
