I saw that you finished the game. Was the restriction always there or only this specific time?

This report came up two or three times for me, and one or two times for the other players as well. During certain stock phases, we simply could not buy certain stocks (the stocks belonged to companies that other players owned). It didn't always happen, but it did happen a few times. I can't think of any special circumstances surrounding the action.

I should also add that I tried different stock types (preferred vs normal) and tried different certificates within the company and still received the error. But again, some rounds were totally fine, and I had no problem buying stocks from other players' companies.

Found the problem.

When buy certificates, the code incorrectly assumed that the owner of the company was any player that owns more shares than the current player, which is true at 2p, but not necessarily true at 3-4p. I more often than not test with 2 players, and found the problem as soon as I saw that the only difference was that you played with 3 players.
