I was the player who was furthest back but was not allowed to continue to play. Instead the other player in front of me was asked to play. After the front player moved she was asked again to continue.

What happened was that cyan player had no more legal turns, so purple played instead.
I chose this approach to make it clearer which player had how much time leftover at the end of the game.
